YEAR 7 STUDY CAMP
Recently we held the Year 7 study camp which consists of two days in which students learn correct study skills as well as generally getting to know everyone. The first day started with the students being placed into groups and not necessarily with people they knew or were friends with. They were then placed with a member of staff who guided them through their workbooks; these will aid them in their study through the next few years. After each session with a staff member the students were then involved in a fun activity that involved lots of movement and often a lot of laughter.
On the following day we were lucky to have theYear 12 students come up and work through some of the activities. Year 12 joined us for lunch and all of the students mixed well and many of the quieter students were also drawn in by the senior students as well as the activities organised by Mr Gale.
Overall it was a very successful time and students learnt a lot, made some new friends and interacted with older peers that hopefully gave them some advice on how to survive the coming years.
Year 7 would like to thank, Mr Cousens, Mrs Birrell, Miss Pfeiffer, Mrs Tracey, Miss Crossingham, Mr Partridge, Miss Robinson, Will Robinson, Karen Weatherall, Mr Gale and Year 12 for looking after them and providing some great experiences, and Mrs McGlashan for supplying them with lovely food.
