State Squash Results and State Representative

At the recent state squash carnival held in Grafton from 7th to 9th July, Coonabarabran High School had 4 students participate playing for the North West Sports Association against the other 9 regions in the state.

Matt Olsen was our boy’s representative, who played quite well and came very close to winning several matches. The boys team finished in 10th position overall.

However, it was our girls who had the most success. They finished fifth overall at the carnival, with all girls winning matches at the state level. They were Keira Daniels, Gabi Olsen and Elise Baker. Keira and Gabi both won their first round matches in the individual championship but were eliminated in the second round of this knockout.

Of particular merit is Gabi Olsen’s selection to play for New South Wales as an Under 15’s representative in the interstate clash with Queensland from the 3rd August to the 8th.  Her efforts at the state carnival place her in the top 5 under 15 female squash players in the state who attend a government high school. We wish her success at this carnival.
