Open Girls’ Soccer

On Monday, 30 March, Coonabarabran Open Girls’ Soccer team played their first game against Coonamble High School. We left school at 10.30am, generously driven by Narelle Pfeiffer, and D.J-ed by Sara Jaiswal.

The scheduled 12.30pm game kicked off at 1pm. The girls had a steady first half, seeing Gabi Olsen scoring our first goal. The first half finished 1:1. During the half-time break the girls had a chance to cool down and the team Captain, Sara Jaiswal, gave the girls a pep-talk, boosting their spirits.

The second half was goal for goal, all being scored by Gabi Olsen.  It was 3:3 in the last minutes of the game, when Sara Jaiswal kicked the miraculous winning goal from outside the goal box, bringing the score to 4:3.

The girls played well in the hot conditions and identified areas that are in need of improvement. Woman of the match went to Sara Jaiswal and most improved to Isabel Enks.
