Coonabarabran High’s Mock Trial team consisting of barristers Sarah Jaiswal and Jessica Staniforth, instructing solicitor Amelia Adam , Court Officer Elise Baker, defendant, Isabel Enks and chief witness, Rhiannon Bowden, had their first foray into court in Dubbo last week. The team competed against the prosecution team from Dubbo Christian College. The Mock Trial was conducted in the Family Court at Dubbo which gave the occasion the necessary sense of formality and ritual.
The team won the Mock Trial and are now busily preparing for round two of the competition, where they will be defending a civil claim for negligence.
