Students at Coona High have been competing in a number of different touch competitions during term 1. The opens boys team played their first round of the CHS knockout at Coonamble winning easily 12 to 4. They now play Farrer here in Coona on Friday 1 May. Our open girls played Peel High in their respective knockout and after being 4 all at fulltime they were beaten in a “drop off ” to unfortunately be knocked out of the competition.
The Year 9 and 10 teams have played in carnivals at Dubbo and Tamworth. The girls team has gained good experience from these days and can work towards developing their skills for the future. Our boys team has developed into a very handy side and after being competitive at Dubbo they went on to win the Tamworth carnival. This means they can now attend the all schools carnival at St Marys in May.
