North West Swimming
On Monday, 10 March, thirty-four Coonabarabran High students competed at Armidale in the North West Swimming Championships. Despite the early morning start, there was several outstanding individual and team performances resulting in twenty-two students being selected in the North West Swimming Team. Individually, Phoebe Hensby, Makayla Munns, Emma Kable, Daniel Thomas and Joshua Stafford all progressed into the team with top two performances. A special mention goes to Phoebe Hensby who swam her way onto the team in five individual races. Coonabarabran High’s U12 Female, U13 Female, U13 Male, U15 Female and U16 Male relay teams also advanced into the North West team. On the 5-7th April the selected students will represent their school and the North West region in the Combined High Schools Swimming Championships to be held at Homebush. All students who represented Coonabarabran High at the carnival are to be congratulated on demonstrating sportsperson qualities in and out of the pool. We wish the students representing the North West all the best at the CHS carnival.
