Regional Cross Country
On Friday 12 June, 21 Coonabarabran High School students set off to attend regional cross country at Coolah. In the past the weather has been a bit difficult, but it was a wonderful sunny winter day which made the conditions perfect for a run. The full team included: Pheobe Hensby, Olivia Eastburn, James Napier, Vanessa Kenyon, Ellie Capewell, Samantha Smith, Nathan Verrender, Dylan Lugli, Saxon Whipper, Brodie Edmonstone, Jessica Richards, Connor Graham, Fred Jerry, Laura Enks, Nicola Murphy, Katie Lee, Leda Greenwood, Elise Baker, Nathan Lucas and Dyllon Tighe. The run around the golf course was familiar to all and they knew the challenges ahead so made sure that they warmed up well and were ready to run. Every student dug deep and put in their best effort which could be seen as they all crossed the finish line with nothing left in the tank. One highlight was the 15 yrs girls as all four finished in the top ten. The strength of the team was shown with five qualifying to represent North West at state level, these were: Nicola Murphy 5th, Olivia Eastburn 5th, Dyllon Tighe 4th, Laura Enks 3rd and Elise Baker 2nd. All the students behaved impeccably and in true sporting fashion.
