2009 Australian Economics and Business Studies Competitions

Students from Coonabarabran High School again challenged themselves by competing in the Australian Economics Competition and the Australian Business Studies Competition, sponsored by Price Waterhouse Coopers. In both competitions students competed against students from across Australia and New Zealand.  Year 12 students competed in a senior division of the competition, while Year 11 students competed in a junior division. Conducted in May both competitions test a large number of concepts not yet covered in student coursework, requiring students to have a sound knowledge of current events. Students in both competitions performed creditably. Particularly pleasing was the outstanding achievement of Geoffrey Lee, who finished in the top 1.5% of candidates competing in the senior division of the Economics Competition.
